Abstract

In spite of the fact that Africa has the lowest greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, studies have shown that it is hit
hardest by climate change. Furthermore, poorest people are most likely to be the most affected by climate change.
Studies have shown that temperatures in Namibia have been increasing at a rate higher than the mean global rate.
Namibia should continue working at the international and the national levels to improve the environment for
investment, diversify sources of income, creating new job opportunities, reduce deforestation, assess the
environmental impact of new developmental projects and to improve access of local communities to climate-related
information and to the knowledge of best coping strategies.
